How to allow the browser to access your camera

Please only use Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Scroll down for information on how to allow each browser to use your camera

If you use Google Chrome

Step 1 - Start the telehealth call

Step 2 - Give the site permission to access your computer's camera

You will see this pop-up in the upper left corner of the URL bar once the page is finished loading. 

  • Select "Allow" to give the site access to your camera

  • You can also click the lock next to the URL to trigger this pop-up

If you do not receive the pop-up

If you do not see the pop-up, the camera may be blocked for this website.

a. Go to Chrome Settings

  • At the top right of a chrome browser, click the three vertical dots

  • Click Settings

b. Go to Site Settings

  • Click the Privacy and security section in the left side bar

  • Click Site Settings

c. Configure Camera Permissions

  • Under the Permissions section, click Camera

  • Turn Ask before accessing ON

d. Refresh the telehealth call web page

  • Once you have performed the above steps you will need to refresh for the changes to take effect

If you STILL cannot see yourself, or you get an error message

If you use Firefox

a. Go to Firefox Preferences

  • At the top right of a Firefox browser, click the horizontal lines 

  • Click Preferences on a Mac computer, or Options on Windows computer

b.  Go to Camera Settings

  • Click the Privacy and security section in the left side bar

  • Scroll down to the Permission section

  • Click Settings to the right of Camera

c. Configure Camera Settings

  • Under the Website column, find the site URL

  • Under the Status column to the right of this site, select Allow

d. Refresh the telehealth call web page

  • Once you have performed the above steps you will need to refresh for the changes to take effect

If you STILL cannot see yourself, or you get an error message

If you use Safari

You will see this pop-up in the upper left corner of the URL bar once the page is finished loading. 

  • Select "Allow" to give the site access to your camera

  • You can also click the camera icon, then "Always allow"

If you do not receive the pop-up

If you do not see the pop-up, the camera may be blocked for this website.

a. Go to Safari Preferences

  • At the top left of the browser, click Safari next to the Apple icon

  • Click Preferences 

b.  Go to Camera

  • Click the Camera section in the left side bar

c. Configure Camera Settings

  • Make sure site for your telehealth call is still open

  • Find the site URL

  • Select Allow in the dropdown to the right of this site URL

d. Refresh the telehealth call web page

  • Once you have performed the above steps you will need to refresh for the changes to take effect

If you STILL cannot see yourself, or you get an error message
